I became an independent consultant with a simple mission: Help small businesses use technology wisely. Achieving that mission means accomplishing the following objectives:

• Creating a technology environment that helps your employees become more productive.
• Ensuring that your employees have the training and procedures necessary to use their systems effectively.
• Finding, evaluating, and integrating new cost-effective technologies into your system.

If you work with me, I will serve as your Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer. I''ll spend my time on activities that will lead to greater efficiency, productivity, and profitability for your company, including:

• Assessment and planning
• Workflow analysis and improvement
• Product research and recommendation
• System design
• Intranet design and administration
• Staff training
• Project management
• Vendor management
• Small project implementation

I will also develop and maintain complete system documentation as well as policies and procedures for optimal computer system usage. In addition, I will ensure that your systems are running smoothly and that your employees have someone to call when something goes wrong. These infrastructure management and help desk services will be provided by one or more third-party companies working under my supervision. To meet your company''s special technology needs, I will help you identify and procure the services of additional qualified vendors.
